A remote Death

I see the orphaned death,
The abandoned lives,
Empty spaces void of sounds
As the devalued innocence is
Allowed to die.

Machines fly high and remote
Men hide,
As death reigns down on
A fractured place.
The metal of fear and the contempt of race
Allow all to die.

I see me in the clouded eyes,
As the membrane of death punctures through.
We all die a little with each orphaned life.

  1. Brenda,
I like it but shouldn’t it be “innocence” instead of “innocents”?
