My Shadow

My shadow isn’t sure who I am anymore,
I feel it trying to disengage and run away,
The air is full of such doubt,
As my shadow asks who do you think you are.
Walking past road signs that offer comfort and safety,
I walk out onto the road and spin around,
I will head the direction my feet are pointing.
My shadow is hesitating but I pull it along with me,
As I whisper in it’s ear,
Fear is no road to walk on.
Be strong and come along,
let doubt melt away,
My shadow comes walks with me.
